On the afternoon of May 21, the Gannan University of Technology (GNUST) successfully hosted its International Exchange Program Seminar in classroom Z1D3 of the main teaching building. Organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the event aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of overseas exchange study programs and broaden their international perspectives. The seminar attracted over 200 students and featured a warm, engaging atmosphere.

Tu Min, the head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, delivered an opening speech. She outlined the university's collaborations with international Universities and emphasized the multifaceted benefits of participating in international exchanges. Director Tu highlighted that studying abroad can enhance academic performance, language proficiency, cross-cultural communication skills, and overall personal competitiveness. In light of the intense competition in domestic postgraduate entrance exams and the job market, she advocated for students to consider studying abroad as a viable strategy to boost their competitiveness. She encouraged students to seize opportunities, venture overseas, and embark on new personal journeys.

Director Tu also provided detailed information about GNUST's summer inter-school exchange programs. These include partnerships with the University of Cambridge, the National University of Singapore, and INTI International University of Malaysia, as well as the exchange student program with the University of Northampton and the postgraduate program at Dresden University of Technology in Germany.

Additionally, three outstanding student representatives from the Faculty of Arts and Law shared their overseas exchange experiences. Peng Yifan and Xie Jian recounted their time at the University of Northampton in the UK, discussing their academic life, cultural adaptation, and personal growth. They also shared insights on their successful applications for graduate studies at prestigious Australian universities. Peng Yifan remarked, "My study experience in the UK not only broadened my academic horizons but also taught me how to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment."

Following them, Zou Jingyue, an English major, shared her experience from the summer 2023 inter-school exchange program at INTI International University in Malaysia. She detailed her academic and personal life in Malaysia, emphasizing the improvements in her language skills and cross-cultural adaptability. Zou Jingyue noted, "This exchange has made me more confident and helped me realize my potential."

The seminar provided students with a wealth of information about overseas study opportunities and ignited their interest and enthusiasm for international exchange programs through the personal stories of the student representatives. Many attendees reported gaining valuable insights and clearer plans for their own overseas study ambitions.

GNUST's International Exchange and Cooperation Office remains committed to deepening international partnerships, expanding project channels, and offering students more opportunities to engage on the global stage. The goal is for more students to utilize the international exchange platform to enhance their comprehensive skills, broaden their global perspectives, and prepare for future challenges.
